It is weird that I do not have a password setup here

This is our security feature so no one can steal your password using phishing methods. You receive a verification code to your registered email address each time you log into your account. For the best security we recommend that you secure your mailbox with a complicated password and set a 2FA (two-factor authentication) in your Exchange account Settings’ Security Tab.

Should I pass the verification process?

Financial instruments are regulated in many countries therefore large amounts of crypto cannot be purchased or held anonymously, and Stobox Exchange is fully compliant with the KYC/AML regulations. Therefore, providing your valid personal data is an obligatory requirement to make the most from the Exchange capabilities. For example, verified and unverified trading accounts have different 24H withdrawal limits.

Is it safe to use?

We apply enterprise-grade measures to keep your personal data safe. The KYC information is not stored on the blockchain, where it would be visible to anyone. Instead, it is stored according to the GDPR rules and in accordance with the best practices of keeping personal data. Alternatively to a single server, the data is stored on servers in your country of origin to ensure more excellent protection by your government. Furthermore, we utilize the sharding technique to further protect your data from a failure or compromise of a single server.

Another point that we would like you to know is that we do not store any of your private keys and a key management system by Tatum.io, our partner, is used to secure your transactions even more.
